In the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, you may not always want to fight to get some dim sum. So as an alternative, head to Mitsuwa to grab some really great dim sum. My favorites there are the shrimp rolls, and the Lotus wrapped Sticky rice. You could even get a combination of these for under eight dollars. What a great deal before heading to get some just search at Le Leaf. Or you could pick up a tasty bubble tea here. My favorite is the milk tea or the mango bubble tea. I haven't found a loser yet in this food court. Or do I hope to.

Mitsuwa offers much better options than Jockey. I found the lady working the register to be unfriendly. It also took forever to get my bubble tea and two appetizers. The food was not worth waiting for. My pineapple bubble tea tasted bland like blended ice with tapioca balls. The crab rangoons were burnt and dry. The pot stickers were very doughy. I ended up not eating the food here and heading over to Mama's House for much better options

Jockey Express is the quick counter version of Jockey Wok N Rolls at Roselle & Higgins in Schaumburg. The lady working was super duper nice and friendly which I appreciated. For lunch today I had the Honey BBQ Pork with rice. It came in a huge portion for $6.50 (even though the website says $5.75) which is a dollar more than Asian Noodle House. Sadly though, it was not as tasty as ANH. I had high hopes with the word honey thrown in it, but I wasn't getting it in the flavor. It was actually a bit bland. A decent dish but I'd skip getting it again. They have a million billion choices including dim sum options on their menu, so I will absolutely get food from Jockey Express again while at Mitsuwa. I want to try all the things!

Thai Iced Bubble Tea? OooooOOOOoooooOOOOOoooo!!! As newbie to bubble tea, any flavors outside of melon, coconut, strawberry, etc really get my motor running and they had a few daily special flavors that caught my eye. I'm pretty sure they had a Chai flavor on special that day but got a little too excited and fumbled during the ordering process so I ended up with Thai iced bubble tea. It was pretty decent. The tapioca was a strange consistency and tasted kind of powdery when you chewed through them...and I think it had a lot of caffiene or something in it because *maybe* 10 minutes after I started sipping I felt the moderately-urgent need to drop the kids off at the pool. Overall, I'm glad that a bubble tea option exists inside Mitsuwa, but I can't say that my boba at Jockey Express was the tastiest.

Thank you, Jockey Express, and especially Courtney C., for introducing me to Taro Lychee tea. This yummy drink has a subtle sweetness that tastes like nothing else I've ever drank. Bonus: it's a pretty lavender color. There was a lot of extra ice in the drink though, which made it hard to get to the tapioca at the bottom. There was a long wait for beverages even though there wasn't a line. Located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace, this delectable beverage stand is cash only.

The bubble tea was perfect. I was a little hesitant, because I'm not the sugary drinking kind. I ordered the Yam (Taro) bubble to drink. It tasted natural and refreshing, I wished I would have ordered a bigger size. The tapioca was not sticky or overbearing. Definitely stop by for one of you can! I didn't have a chance to taste anything else, but I look forward to trying something else in the future.

Decent and very reasonably priced rice dinner plates in this Mitsuwa Marketplace food court business. I had the soy chicken with rice plate for $7 and it was quite satisfactory for the price. They have other rice plates (lke BBQ pork, spare ribs, and beef stew as examples). They also have various dim sum selections, none of which I tried. Cash only here.

I ordered pot stickers as an appetizer but when I went to pick up my order the woman handed me egg rolls. She said that was what I told her but it was not. We argued and she treated me like I was lying to her and she refused to do anything to fix the situation. She told me I would need to pay her again if I wanted the pot stickers I ordered. She was horribly rude and inferred I was a liar.

Tried boba tea for the first time and I thought it was delicious, next time I'll try a fruitier mango. Also I've tried their pork buns at a previous time and found them delicious. I look forward to a duck lunch on my next visit with boba.

I picked this place because it had absolutely 0 people inline. Which is always a bonus if you're in a hurry after waiting 10 minutes for just a drink to be made and a order of their fried egg rolls .I asked the person who was eating her lunch from the place next door how long and she said they never even put the order in. I said I would wait longer after receiving these stale egg rolls and over sweet drink I told myself I knew why they had no lines. Never again.

Haha, this review is more like 3.5, a stretch for 4. But not sure why this place gets such bad rep. Their milk tea is pretty darn delicious, and CHEAPPP!! Got the wonton noodle soup, it's pretty good, noodle is good, soup lacks flavor, wontons can be a bit more fresh, the bok choy so-so. After having the milk tea and noodle soup, I was full. I hate that the food court here only takes cash, no one has that much cash handy haha. This place is prob by far the cheapest eatery in the food court, hate that chinese food always gets that rep but, i don't mind the cheapness tho haha, won't complain.

we were supposed to eat at "kayaba" but we were late because the store is having a lunch break every 2:00-3:30 pm so we decided to eat at Jockey express. we ordered roasted chicken and wonton soup for to go. when we got out order the lady gave us a dine in so we told her that our order was "to go" and we showed her our receipt but instead she throws a plastic bag, container for the soup and roasted chicken.. I left a note using a tissue telling her to fix her attitude or customers won't be coming to her store. welp I'm not going back anyway.

Ugh. I have never had such a terrible milk tea in my life. Even the color was off. It didn't taste right...it was like the simple syrup they used was rancid or had some other taste in it. I think they actually reuse the water they keep the tapioca in or something as sweetener or a base for the drinks because it has this slimy weird gelatinous consistency to it. Disgusting. This is not the milk tea you are looking for.

Most likely the most Lackluster restaurant at Mitsuwa. But why would you go to Mitsuwa for Chinese food anyway? Food: The food is on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to Chinese food. I have a feeling that their Shumai and Shrimp Dumplings are store bought even. They also use inferior quality rice than all the other restaurants. Why eat here when there are so many better restaurants a couple footsteps away in the food court? Bubble Tea: The absolute worst Bubble Tea I have ever had. I have tried over a hundred Bubble Tea places and this one takes last place. The Tapioca Balls were frozen solid. The fruit just tasted really off. I have gotten both Mango and Honey Dew here before and the fruit they use tastes like old fruit they took out of the freezer. It's like they froze the fruit when expiration time drew near. The fruit tastes like it is stuck in purgatory. I didn't think Bubble Tea could be repulsive before this place. You might feel I am being overly harsh, but literally every other restaurant in the food court is better than this place. You will overpay for bland food and bubble tea that tastes like dying fruit. Do yourself a favor and don't let this place dampen your Mitsuwa experience.

This is strictly a smoothie review. Everytime I go to Mitsuwa I have to grab a smoothie from here. They are so refreshing in the summer. The watermelon one is so, so good. I dream of it on hot days. On to the balls. Tapioca Balls. I ordered them in my smoothie once. Tasted one, thought ' enh, it's ok.' And went on my merry way. I did not enjoy the ball to smoothie ratio. Every time I expected a nice big sip of watermelon slushie goodness, i got a mouth full of balls. I was with a friend and she asked me what was wrong. " I have way too many balls in my mouth, i can't handle them all." Not a phrase I expected to be uttering in public in front of children when I woke up that morning, but what are you going to do, right? I went back with my husband, he had never been there before, and he was about to order a Watermelon smoothie with tapioca. Being the loving wife I am, I said " No honey, you don't want that many balls in your mouth. " If you dig amazing fruit slushie goodness, pick up a smoothie. If you dig balls, pick up a smoothie with tapioca. Everyone wins!

I had their bbq pork with lomein. It was exactly like I expected it.. it was good. And its portion was a lot so I could only finish a little bit. For people looking for this place, it's inside of Mitsuwa market's food court. Have yet to try their bubble tea after all these years. I tried the shrimp spring rolls and they were yummy as well. I'd order here again. Not the most amazing food but for it's portions and quality and price, it's an option for next time.

Jockey Express isn't just a restaurant to me; it's an event. I make it a point to come here at least once around the same time each year. The impetus for my Jockey journey? ACen - Anime Central. My friends and I take a trip to Mitsuwa Marketplace on the Thursday before ACen and hit up the food court before stuffing our carts with goodies. I've tried nearly all of the other restaurants on other occasions, but Jockey Express almost always wins out. I feel they have the most choices and are consistently delicious. I love their giant noodle soups and fruity bubble teas (this is the place that turned me on to boba). I tend to go with the shrimp dumpling soup, but every once in a while I venture a little bit out of my norm and try something different. I like to taste new things, but I don't like surprises. Their menus with pictures make it easy to know exactly what I'm getting myself into. CASH IS KING!

Jockey Express is a small little outlet of Jockey Wok n Roll over on Higgins. Jockey is best known for being the only dim sum place in the Western Burbs (it seems anyway, if anyone else knows of dim sum in the Western burbs, please message me!) So it's no surprise that Jockey Express offers some of the more popular dim sum plates. They also offer soups and rice plates and bubble smoothies. I usually get a bubble smoothie before I leave Mitsuwa and they are always really good. I opted for a Thai Tea bubble drink this last time and found that they made it into a smoothie-not the liquid tea I was expecting. I can't say that I cared for it. I think I'll stick to my usuals next time--watermelon or cantaloupe or honeydew smoothies. The bubble tapioca pearls are always good--nice chew, not over or under done. I tried the roast duck plate and some dim sum recently. I liked the shrimp rolls--very crispy, great flavor. The steamed pork buns were disappointing though--very dry. The roast duck was tasty and I liked the duck sauce they serve with it. All the dishes are served piping hot and service is friendly. I spied another customers soup and it looked pretty good. The line here usually isn't very long and like the rest of the food court--CASH is king so come prepared with paper not plastic.

They had their staple dim-sum dishes except for crepe rolls, which I do not understand...Everything tasted bland and not so fresh...but I guess that is what you get for Chinese food in a Japanese place. Green tea smoothie was also not flavorful.

Location, location, location. If this place was in Chinatown I'd be laughing at how crappy the food is here compared to the competition but here in a Japanese grocery store next to a ramen shop and a korean restaurant...it works pretty well. You'd be hard pressed to find Dim Sum here in the suburbs and its especially hard to find good dim sum. I would describe Jockey as adequate and passable. I'm willing to eat it since the next best dim sum place is all the way in Chicago. Normally I eat at the ramen place because I think its the best ramen place in Illinois but you can get sick of that after so many bowls.(I've had many many bowls.) Prices are fairly reasonable, around 2-4 bucks per item and there's combinations and meals. My favorite aspect of this place is that I can just get 1 or 2 items and just be happy with that as a snack. If you walk into a dim sum restaurant and do that, they look at you like a cheap prick wasting their time and table space. For that I am grateful and will keep coming back when I don't want ramen. This place is A-OK with me, if you're interested in Dim Sum but are afraid to try it in a sit down restaurant, come here, order 1 or 2 things and give it a shot. There is no stigma or obligation to buy more and you might just be lured in the greatness that is Dim Sum. If you like this place, there are far better places for you in Chicago so give it a try.

This little chinese restaurant located inside of the Mitsuwa Marketplace. It offers from noodle soup, rice plate, dim sum and boba. While price is at an average price (for suburbans), I have to say the food is pretty good here. You can also order food to go, unlike other restaurants at the food court. Jockey Express is the branch of the Jockey Wok' Roll in Hoffman Estates. One thing customer's MUST notice, its that Jockey doesn't accept credit card and do not take phone orders.

This is one of a few food vendors inside of Mitsuwa Marketplace and by the looks of things when I went there for a bite to eat, one of the most popular. Let me start out by saying that trying to eat here at lunchtime on a Sunday was a total nightmare. I don't really blame Jockey for that, but to try and eat here at a peak time seems to be impossible. When trying to order my food I had to wait in this long line that moved very slowly as their only cashier and food expeditor tried to manage the crowd. Once I had ordered my food, I waited in a long line of people who had to wait 15-20 minutes for their made to order meal. Then once you get your food, finding somewhere to sit in the small area allocated for tables is a complete joke. I ended up eating my Beef Stew and Shrimp Rolls standing up on top of a garbage can. The food was great, though they have so many options I wasn't really sure what to get. They have lots of combo meals too which is nice so you can try a few things at a time. The shrimp rolls were great though and I'd love to try some of the Dim Sum options. I also had a Watermelon boba smoothie and it was pretty good. Not the best, but good. I wish that there was more seating here so that it was an enjoyable experience to come back - maybe next time I will try coming during the week. Oh also just an FYI, they only take cash though there is an ATM at the front of the marketplace.

For a quick dimsum and noodle fix, this place is hard to beat. It's cash only though so leave the plastic for the rest of the store. The food court at Mitsuwa japanese market is crowded on this Sunday. I order the #103, otherwise known as "Wonton Beef Thick Noodle Soup with Pork Dumpling". I substitute thin noodles and get a side of steamy, fluffy, sweet and savory char siu bao (pork buns). Then magic happens. Life is suddenly less complicated and oh so good. So good.

Had their lo-mein once, and actually got sick. I thought it was just an aberration given how there were so many positive reviews.... I went back there recently to give them a second try. Had their BBQ Pork over rice. Disgusting.... the BBQ Pork was fatty, blackened and dry. THe worst BBQ Pork I've ever had. I ended up throwing it away. Will not be going back.

Great for a Quick Suburban Dim Sum, the food of the menu is pretty good also. Love the Seafood Noodle, one of my favorites. Nice selection of Bubble teas, not sure if it still true but many of the Dim Sum Chefs also work at some of the popular China Town restaurants. A treat for us in the burbs to be able to get a Dim Sum fix in our backyards.

I ordered the "Beef and Fish Ball soup" on accident when I meant to order the "Roasted Duck Soup". As an ailment to my confusion, the cashier gave me a potsticker - and it worked! The soup was great - lots of balls :/ and noodles. It also came with BBQ pork buns - which were ok - they looked badly formed. I'm hesitant to visit again since my sister - who ordered the roasted duck soup complained that there was too many bones and not enough meat in her dish.
